My Friend's Exotic Birthday

In Te Ngahere our class one of our classmate called Shivam Invited us to have butter chicken for lunch in Greens for his birthday because his parents owns the Greens restaurant in town, also we wouldn't decline the offer because classmates usually don't invite other people to their restaurant for there birthday. After we walked down to enter the restaurant. After waiting, the teachers served us the butter chicken with rice and naan bread. The food was so delicious, I felt so happy that I rated the food a 9.9 out of 10. The next this was they gave us easter boxes for our surprise I was so happy I nearly screamed. After that we had to acknowledge Shivam’s birthday by giving him a thank you card for inviting us to his parents restaurant, to his birthday and the easter boxes. When we were about to go, we had to thank Shivam’s parents for letting us have a free lunch. We thanked them by singing Waiata for them.

I enjoyed eating with my friends in the restaurant because we were having a blast and the food was amazing.

Have you ever when to one of your classmate’s parents’ restaurant?

My Smart Smurfing/Surfing

This term in Te Ngahere we have been learning to use keywords to search the internet properly. Using keywords is a whole lot better than copy and pasting the whole question, an example of a keyword search is instead of typing “what do spiders eat” you should type “spiders diet”.  The reason for that is because Google has a thing called a spider.  Whenever you type an irrelevant words like what and how the spider will shoot a web at all the websites with the irrelevant word you searched.

Do you now know what the keyword is?

If you still don't understand here is my DLO:

Our Planet: Coastal Seas

In Te Ngahere, we have been learning about the coastal seas and where the marine creatures live, eat hunt and breed, for example: a sea otter lives in kelp forests, the sea otter is kept warm by their fur from the cold water. The writing I had wrote is now more interesting than ever by adding a bit more detail about their favorite food and what they do in the ecosystem. The hardest part was to find facts about the coastal seas/our planet while we watched the video from netflix. The easiest part was to put the facts in my slide and make it interesting. Here is the Source of my DLO down below: Link

Te Reo Maori DLO

In Te Ngahere we are learning about properly pronouncing Te Reo Maori words for greetings, alphabet and place names and screencastify it. The website is called Education Perfect. I had to screencastify my Education Perfect and properly pronounce the words very accurately and effectively then finish it under 30 seconds long,‘’at least”. I really enjoyed making my DLO because it was very fun!. I think I did very well because it’s helping me in kapa haka. What I need to do in the future is to learn more words for Te Reo Maori and actually say sentences full of Te Reo Maori Words.

Have you ever used Education Perfect before?

Sharing My Knowledge in Class

I recommend watching the DLO before reading this writing below.

In Te Ngahere I have been making a DLO about Algorithms. In algorithms I had to subtract, add, borrow and add number lines.  The strategy I used was number lines because it’s easier to use and it is a faster way for me to learn how to borrow. We had to have evidence about our maths, about what we have been learning. After we finished we had to screencastify our learning.

The hardest part learning about algorithms is when I had to borrow numbers when it is smaller than the bottom one. The easiest part is adding the numbers.

Have you ever made a DLO about algorithms before?

Here is the DLO to my Screencastify:
