Wonder Project Thank You Letter!

This week we have been making a letter to Troy and Gustavo who are scientist from The Wonder Project.

When Gustavo and Troy came to Paihia School things became fun, they taught us how to make bottle rockets and how to launch it. They also made my  day because The Wonder Project was so much fun and I wanted to learn more of what scientists do.

The easiest part was thinking of all the great things they had done for us.

The hardest part was not forgetting the layout for the writing which was the date, dear Troy and Gustavo, paragraph 1, paragraph 2, conclusion and saying Best wishes/Sincerely.

Have you written a letter to someone before?

My Exotic Art

This week in Te Ngahere we have been making art for a Calendar

I had no idea what I was doing until the teacher explained what the activity was. I remember last year we did calendar art. Before we started we had to practice our skills with a sheet that's shaded with a spiral drawing, we had to draw the spiral with our pencil and trace it. I needed silence so I could focus drawing a perfect masterpiece.. The easiest part was to draw because the drawing I did is awesome but its not completed yet we had to watch a video to find the easy shape.

Have you ever drawn curves on your drawing?

My Complete Wonder Project

This Week in Te Ngahere we finished our Wonder Project that we have been doing for the past 8 weeks.

We had to write a reflection about innovations, problem solving and collaboration, we had to write what we thought we did well and what we did not do well. The hardest part to write was the innovation, because innovation is what your group did to ensure your rocket was successful, I found that really hard to answer. The easiest part was to write about was collaboration because you need to explain what teamwork skills you had used.

My Glorious Movie

This term in Te Ngahere we have been making films for the film festival. We finished filming our movie and finished editing them. This week we watched our classmates movies while eating chips and lollies.

The hardest part to watch was my movie because it was so embarrassing I had to put on my hoodie while people were watching my movie.

The easiest part was watching other people's movies because I didn’t have to be embarrassed.

Here is the slide to my Movie

My Wonder Project! I’m Lovin’ it

This Week we tested our Rocket for the second time and it went really well. We changed some variables such as, replacing the cardboard fins into plastic fins and pumping 60 PSI. We also changed the water level to 300ml. The hardest part to launch a rocket is to pump the rocket to 60 PSI because my group struggled a lot to pump it. The easiest part was definitely to launch it and count to 3, 2, 1 BLAST OFF!!!

Have you ever Launched a Rocket?

The changes we made is in slide 9

What I learnt about Te Reo Maori

Hi my name is Mark a year 7 student from Paihia School. This term in Te Ngahere we have been making a maori DLO with a buddy, we were learning to speak English to maori like translating english to maori like this (I ako ratou ki te mahi paoro) It means they learnt how to play rugby. My Buddy was Zac a year 6 student. The hardest part to understand is maori words because every time Zac and I search up a word for maori it comes off wrong, the easiest part was the english words.
